A. We are here because of our Runnas; stay humble and grateful for them. Don’t take our success so far for granted. Everything we do should be for them.
B. Try and find something to improve 1% every day (embrace kaizen); focus on long-term outcomes to build an amazing product and experience for our Runnas. Do this regardless of your role or seniority.
C. Make every interaction with Runna phenomenal; whether that’s a customer, partner, ambassador, or team member, make sure they’re getting the best and nothing but the best.
D. Think big and think global; we have Runnas all over the world (focusing on the USA), so think global. And if it doesn’t scale, it’s not worth our time.
A. No egos, politics, bullshit, or gossip; enough said!
B. No bureaucracy; maintain a flat structure, make decisions yourself, and own them. Earn trust and take responsibility.
C. Keep the team moving 10x faster; no unnecessary meetings, documentation, or slides. Don’t sit in on meetings you don’t need to be in - share agendas beforehand and pass on actions/notes for others.
D. Be an amazing teammate; be open and honest with everyone and give (and be receptive to) regular feedback - don’t wait for the 6-month review. Be empathetic and understanding of personal circumstances and always assume best intentions from everyone you interact with. Learn and share learnings with everyone at any opportunity. Always ask for help if you’re not sure (no stupid questions). Put up your hands if you make a mistake.
A. Work hard and improve things; be willing to roll up your sleeves. No job is too great or small. It’s your company, so it’s up to you to suggest things and implement them. Want a company padel club? Organise it. Need a new view of our data? Learn how to make it (and share it with the team). But do so sustainably and take time for yourself when you need to.
B. Move quickly, fail fast, learn fast; embrace a bias for action - do it now, or in an hour, or tomorrow. Make type 2 decisions fast. Be ambitious and 10x what you think you’re capable of.
C. We’re all one team, get stuck in; our shared goals are more important than our individual ones. Help each other out. Get involved in every part of Runna, whether it’s testing the app in your spare time or joining Runna clubs and events.
D. Be unapologetically yourself and applaud others for doing the same; take your work seriously, but don’t take yourself seriously and commit to making every single team member feel welcome and included.
